Are you in or around Providence, RI this weekend? Yes? Me too!
I’ll be speaking at IvyQ, a conference that aims to create a “pan-Ivy community of LGBTQ students and allies equipped with the skills to examine their identities, value those of others, and understand intersectionality.”
Specifically, I’ll be speaking on the Ethics of Lust: Politicization of Desire panel about how personal subjective ethics control the way we deal with sex, sexuality, gender and gender identity, both personally and politically.
I’m really excited about speaking but even more excited about attending other panels. While every person speaking at IvyQ is highly accomplished and interesting, I’m especially excited to see/meet:
- Krista Burton – from the blog Effing Dykes
- Ellen Feder – rethinking genital surgery for children with atypical sex, a topic I’m extremely passionate about
- Tristan Taormino – I’ve read her stuff and heard so much about her, just never seen her in person
- My fellow panelists Mandy Van Deven and Megan Andelloux
It should be a great conference, so if you’re in the area, I highly suggest you coming.
