Chocolate chips, recently metled, so warm they explode gooey goodness into your mouth with each bite.
I’ve been sick in bed with the stomach flu, unable to keep anything down, and yet warm, gooey chocolate chips sound so good to me right now. So does crying while I bake and eat them.
And that’s how I know I’m being attacked by PMS again.
I was supposed to go to Portland today, supposed to see Cheryl Strayed and Steve Almond speak, two of my favorite authors. I just got back from visiting my family and I really needed the inspiration, needed a reason to keep writing. But I got sick, and driving 2 hours (or 4 with all the bathroom stops I’d make) is no longer viable.
So now I sit here online, searching for another kind of inspiration. And I found it, in this BlogHer post about Presidential cookies, which then led me to this Nestle Tollhouse page with an “easy” recipe.

Michelle Obama’s cookie recipe (http://www.familycircle.com/recipes/desserts/cookies/presidential-cookie-recipes/?rb=Y#page=1)
Even though I’m sick, I might still make them. There’s something comforting about the smell of cookies, well cooking. I also really want some cookie dough in my freezer, there to peel a bite off anytime I want, anytime the PMS or depression monster hits me. (I also use Cyclease and did a review of it. It’s no chocolate, but it does help.)
But UGH, just looking at these pictures is making me want to lose my cookies (pun intended) before I even eat the cookies. I guess temptation will have to wait another day.
