Thirsty Thursday: Barrel Aged Negroni

Barrel Aged Negroni

Behold the Barrel Aged Negroni. I’d never heard of a barrel aged cocktail until coming across this one. And if Cdub the Philosopher hadn’t heard of it, you probably haven’t either. Found at Clyde Common in Portland, Oregon, this beauty was aged for two months in Tuthilltown whiskey barrels before landing in my glass. It was made with Beefeater gin, Cinzano sweet vermouth, Campari, and an orange peel (fresh, not aged). Though not his chosen cocktail, pontifications on Hemingway quickly ensued once this baby was in my hand. It was a good night.

I’m now accepting barrel donations. If you provide the barrel and liquor, I’ll provide the aged cocktail. Deal?
